NATO'S STANAG AND IR-THREAT DEFINITION UPDATE
NATO has recently updated its standards defining in which area of the spectrum a thermal threat may exist. This information is now registered into NATO's database (up to 12,000 nm or 12 microns). This is a big step forward from what a thermal threat was perceived to be in the past (spectrum in the region of 1000 nm or 1 micron - 1972 specification).
